I have lived in Norfolk, Virignia my entire life. I always had an idea of what I wanted to be when I grew up: firefighter, lego designer, stock trader, etc. The problem is that I never had a specific role model or motivation to pursue any of these interests as a profession. A few years ago I met my now step-brother who had a huge interest in building computers. For a few years after that, I had a dream to build my own computer and maybe even get into electronics engineering. I found a small STEM program that I had interest in attending to pursue my technological passion. I wanted to do robotics intitally because on top of building computers, I was curious about how they worked. I impulsively decided to do just programming specifically. For two years I attended that program. One year I learned Python and built a text-based video game within the consol, and the next year I learned simple web development. A hard truth I learned was that you don't remember what you don't practice. Due to this realization, I made the decision to apply to college closer to the end of 2023 and pursue computer science because I was not confident that I could be self taught due to commitment and discipline issues, but I had something burning inside me that was pushing me to learn. In December of that same year, I bought my first course on Udemy in full stack web development. Since then I have been learning and making projects with only HTML and CSS with Bootstrap, but this is just the beginning. I am still planning on going to college in August of 2024, but I am slowly gaining confidence in the fact that I can do this on my own.
I am a senior in high school currently on track to graduate with an advanced diploma and a greater-than-3.8 GPA. I will be attending a 4-year college starting mid-August of this year, 2024.
Programming is among one of my many hobbies and interests. I also enjoy playing video games, reading, watching tv, building desktops, and going to the gym.
